How to rent a device on the new Hilotherm website 

1.When on the homepage you will need to click on the button that says ‘RENT A DEVICE’

2. You will then need to select the rental you need from the options available

 If you have been told that you will be using a Hilotherm device in hospital then they will provide you with a cuff. These cuffs are single patient use and you will be able to take it home with you as the hospital will not be able to reuse it. This will save you having to purchase a cuff from us. In this case you can select ‘HTP1 Rental – No Cuff.’ 
If the hospital you are attending will not be using a Hilotherm device you will have to purchase a cuff separately. In this case you will need to select the HTP1 Rental that includes the relevant cuff to your surgery.  
We recommend that if you are in any doubt then you should buy a cuff. If you return the cuff to us unopened we will refund you for it. 
We will ask you to provide us with the hospital and type of procedure you are having (for example: knee surgery or jaw surgery) at checkout as this helps us to identify any potential issues.

3. Selecting your shipping 

After choosing the relevant rental you will be asked to select a shipping option if you want your machine to arrive on a week day you will need to select ‘Weekday Delivery’ this will cost £35 and includes both the delivery and collection of the device. 

If you want your machine to arrive on a Saturday you will need to select ‘Saturday Delivery’ this will cost £55 and includes both the delivery and collection of the device. In order to negate the higher cost incurred by a Saturday delivery all orders delivered on a Saturday will be collected on a Monday adding a couple of extra days to the rental. 

Please note that for Northern Ireland and some areas of the Highlands you will need to select a different shipping method, the price for this is £60 and we are unable to deliver to these areas on a Saturday.

There is also an option to collect your rental from our offices in Coventry and then return it at the end of your rental. If you wish to select this you will need to scroll down to the bottom of the ‘Rent a Device’ page and select ‘HTP1 Rental - Collection from Hilotherm office (CV4 7EZ).’ If you choose this option there will be no delivery costs attached to your rental.

4. Selecting the duration of your rental 

Rentals are made in durations of 1 week and you can always extend the rental once you have it if you would like it for a longer period. Typically for a jaw surgery the duration of the rental will be between 1 or 2 weeks whereas for a knee surgery it is usually between 2 and 4 weeks.

Occasionally if you have visited the website before and browsed your rental options, the website will remember the rental duration you had previously selected. In this case you will not get the option to select a duration and you will need to amend the dates once the order is in your cart.

5. Contact details

Once you have selected the rental option that you need along with the correct delivery and rental dates you can checkout of your cart. This will take you to a page in which you enter the delivery address and your contact details, these details will be given to the couriers so it’s best to use the phone number and email address of whoever will be at the address the machine is sent to.  

All our deliveries are booked with DPD on a morning delivery. Someone will need to be in to receive the delivery on the selected delivery day. If there is nobody at the delivery address the machine is likely to be taken to a local shop where it will be available for collection the following day. Due to the value of the machine we do not recommend asking the courier to ‘leave in a safe place.’ We will contact you by email a few days before your rental finishes to confirm whether you would like us to collect the device or extend the rental. We will then book the collection from your chosen address with DPD. We can usually choose either a morning or afternoon slot for the collection. 

After you have completed this page you can click ‘Continue to payment’ which will take you to a secure payment page in which you can choose your payment options.
